In order to foster high-level dental skills and the dentists themselves as a fully-rounded individuals, we have offered an IT environment for each step of the curriculum aimed at promoting high-quality dental education since 1998. Specifically, we have instituted consistent evaluation for each student throughout the 6 years of their course, using an original database to manage their entire examination history during that period. We have named this structured evaluation system "Global Evaluation".

In 2000, TDC created an IT environment for its students by installing a wireless LAN network. Although each department had offered Web-based content as part of its educational program prior to this, they had not be mutually interconnected. Therefore, under our new program, these existing contents have been incorporated into a new e-Learning Program in order to help integrate the studies required for modern dental medical education. We have also created an on-demand self-learning program to promote habitual active studying.

Our liberal arts education covers the cultural sciences, sociology and the natural sciences, as well as foreign languages, physical education and basic studies. These are provided in the first year to prepare students for entry to specialized subjects.

By attending lectures and undergoing meticulous practical training, students gain a knowledge of dentistry that will form the foundation of their career.
This covers such fields as the anatomy and physiology of the human body, metabolic processes, and the causes and mechanisms of various diseases.

Students learn the correct methods of diagnosis and examination of a wide range of diseases, as well as treatment approaches making use of new methods and materials through these subjects. These studies instill in students the knowledge and basic techniques needed to provide high-quality dental care.

Students go through their clinical practice at one of our three hospitals: Chiba Hospital which is annexed to TDC, Ichikawa General Hospital or Suidobashi Hospital. During clinical practice, instructors provide students with one-on-one guidance through a curriculum of clinical lectures, demonstrations, observation and participation in the treatment of patients under their direct care.
