Tokyo Dental College Graduate School of Dental Science provides a four-year PhD course. PhD students must submit a doctoral thesis, complete the required credits, and pass the final examination to obtain the degree of PhD.
In the Graduate School, each department has its own specific curriculum for PhD students. Students can expect to gain advanced knowledge of dental science and relevant fields while obtaining the ability to be a leader in research and education in that area. They are also expected to contribute to the development of culture and to benefit society because of the expertise gained during the specific research in each course.
Currently, the graduate school system, function, and management is changing in this rapidly changing world. However, our preparations to meet these challenges are fully in place.

This course is available to
  1. Those who have completed a six-year university course of study in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or veterinary medicine.
  2. Those who have reached the age of 24 and whom this graduate school has recognized, through an individual screening of admission qualifications, as possessing academic ability equal to or greater than that specified in the preceding item.

34 (including special selection from non-student applicants)
Doctoral course of PhD for 4 years on Basic Dentistry or Clinical Dentistry
The PhD degree is conferred upon those who have fulfilled the required credits in the specialized field of study with due supervision by designated supervisors, have presented a doctoral thesis on the inventive research, and have passed the final examination.
