国際協力で推進するグローバル歯科医療人材の育成
東京歯科大学は、日本国内のみならず世界においても、歯科医療を通じて人々の健康に寄与することを目的に、海外の大学との大学間協定および講座間協定を締結し、世界各国の大学や研究機関との交流を積極的に推進してきました。これらの協定に基づき、研究者および学生の国際的な交流を通じた教育・研究活動を展開しています。
本学教員が海外の協定校において長期にわたり研究活動を行う「長期海外出張」制度や、本学学生の国際的視野の育成を目的とした学生国際交流「Elective Study Program」を実施し、幅広い国際交流の機会を提供しています。
また、海外の大学を卒業した歯科医師を受け入れ、本学大学院で修学する機会を提供するとともに、本学各講座において専門分野・領域における研究を推進することを目的とした短期研修プログラム「Overseas Fellows」や、海外の歯学部生を対象とした「Elective Study for Overseas Students」も実施しています。
社会の国際化が進展する中、大学における国際交流の推進は、日本の歯科医学研究および歯科医療の立場を世界に向けて発信できる人材を育成する上で、極めて重要な意義を有しています。
Developing Global Dental Professionals through International Collaboration
Tokyo Dental College actively engages in global partnerships with universities and research institutions around the world to advance oral health through education and research. Through inter-university and inter-departmental agreements, we foster international collaboration among faculty members and students.
Tokyo Dental College offers opportunities for faculty members to undertake long-term research at partner institutions abroad, as well as the Elective Study Program, which aims to develop students’ global perspectives and academic experience.
In addition, we offer programs for dentists who have graduated from overseas universities, including admission to our Graduate School, as well as short-term opportunities such as the Overseas Fellows Program, for specialized research training.
For overseas dental students, Tokyo Dental College offers an Elective Study Program that provides valuable opportunities for interaction among students from diverse cultural backgrounds, deepens mutual understanding, and cultivates a global perspective and flexible thinking. Through this program, participants engage in the College’s educational and research activities, gain specialized knowledge and practical experience in dental science and related fields, and enjoy a fulfilling academic and cultural experience through close interaction with faculty members and students in a friendly and collaborative learning environment.
Through these initiatives, we aim to cultivate dental professionals who can contribute to and represent Japanese dental research and clinical practice on the global stage.
